Attention High School families! While some families found last year's online submission process helpful, we realized that the paper form is a better option for our school community.
For the 2026–2027 school year, we will return to using the paper service hours form. Students may either print the form attached to this email at home or pick up a copy from the school's office.
Service Hour Requirements
Grades 9–11: Students must independently complete 15 hours of service each school year. School-sponsored service opportunities may count toward this requirement.
Grade 12: Students must either complete 40 hours of service during the school year or participate in the Senior Mission Trip, which fulfills the service requirement.
Please note the following guidelines:
Service projects may not consist of household chores or tasks that benefit members of the student's immediate family. Service must benefit individuals or organizations outside of the student's nuclear family.
Students must provide a brief description of the service they performed, including what they learned through the experience.
Service hours must be completed between June 7, 2026, and May 20, 2027. Extensions will only be granted in extreme circumstances and must be requested in advance by contacting the Upper School Principal.
Examples of Service Opportunities
Serving in church ministries, such as children's ministry, hospitality, worship, or outreach programs
Assisting with church childcare or special events
Serving as a counselor or volunteer at a summer camp or Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Volunteering at community events, fundraisers, or nonprofit organizations
Visiting and assisting at nursing homes or senior living communities
Serve as a faculty aide for a teacher
Helping at school-sponsored events, such as open houses, admissions events, athletic events, or other approved service opportunities
Throughout the school year, PCS also provides a variety of opportunities for students to earn service hours by volunteering at school events. Examples include helping with Homecoming, Madrigals, the school musical, admissions events, athletic events, and other school-sponsored activities. These opportunities will be shared with students as they become available.
