We are pleased to provide an update on the property acquisition next door to the Lower School, and the site work that is underway! In June 2022, we closed on the purchase of the 3.8 acre homestead adjacent to our Lower School on New Galena Road. The additional property will be extremely helpful as we develop our final site plans for the Lower School expansion. We are thankful for God's faithfulness, and that our Lower School is bursting at the seams. Our expansion plans include the following:
- A new, two-story, academic wing that provides enough classroom space so that, in total, we will have two academic classrooms for every grade (age 3 preschool through 5th), and spacious rooms for a new library, a new technology space, a new STEM room, an art room, a music room, and learning support.
- Phase two of the Lower school expansion, if possible, will focus on the construction of a larger gymnasium/theater space and a large cafeteria space and industrial kitchen space.
- The playground will be moved to the rear of the building - away from the road and away from the carpool lines.
- With the new property adjacent to the Lower School we may be able to change the entrance and flow of traffic through the school property so that New Galena Road is not jammed up during morning drop off!
